How to Knit with a Wool Slub Twist Yarn

How to Knit with a Wool Slub Twist Yarn

Today I am going to show how to knit with our WOOL SLUB TWIST YARN.

I’m Tim from Knit Works London, which is a specialist machine knitting studio.
We sell luxury yarns for machine knitting, teach machine knitting classes, and you can hire our equipment.

The wool slub twist yarn is two different lambswool colours twisted together. You can see that the white has the slub and the orange is twisted around it.

We have a range of fun fresh colours. It’s spun in Scotland by a top wool and cashmere specialist.

I’m knitting on a standard gauge domestic Brother knitting machine. I’m casting on 50 needles wide at tension 5. This is a luxury yarn designed for machine knitting so it knits incredibly smoothly.

On the cone is 200m of yarn, that knitted 290 rows. I’ve just pressed the edges here with the steam iron. You can see the plumes of fluffy white lambswool creating an irregular texture.

And once washed you can see the yarns have relaxed and it’s opened up the lambswool fibres.
