Are you feeling fruity, but in a sustainable way? Then check out our banana and pineapple yarns!
Banana Yarn is a traditional South East Asian fibre, made from the stems of banana plants. As a co-product of food production it can be seen as a more sustainable alternative to cotton.
It has a feel somewhere between cotton and linen. It is very light, a little bit fluffy and dyes well.
Pineapple Fibre Yarn is made from the leaves of pineapple plants which are normally burnt after harvest, diverting waste into a useful co-product of food production, making this yarn a sustainable choice.
It has a slightly irregular and slightly fluffy texture.
Both of these are undyed ecru coloured yarns; try dyeing them yourself with dyes suitable for plant-based fibres like cotton and viscose.
These are part of our wide range unique and plant based yarns on cones for machine knitting, which you can check out atknitworkslondon.com !
