Banana Fibre Yarn is part of our range of yarns made from special plant-based materials, on cones for machine knitting.

Banana Yarn is a traditional South East Asian fibre, made from the stems of banana plants. As a co-product of food production it can be seen as a more sustainable alternative to cotton.

It has a feel somewhere between cotton and linen. It is very light, a little bit fluffy and dyes well. This is an undyed ecru coloured yarn; try dyeing it yourself with dyes suitable for plant-based fibres like cotton and viscose.
